Your data, plainly

The short version

Churp turns your voice into text and drafts replies using what's on your screen in the moment you hold the key. Your recordings and screen captures are used only to produce that text — they are never saved to your account. We never sell your data, we don't show ads, and we don't use your content to train AI models.

1. Information we collect

Account information. Your email address, a securely hashed password, an optional phone number, and your subscription status.

Your sales profile. Information you choose to give Churp so drafts sound like you — for example your product description, pricing, links, style preferences, and writing samples.

Voice audio (momentary). When you hold a Churp key and speak, that audio is captured and processed to produce your transcription. The audio is used only for that purpose and is not saved to your account. Churp never listens in the background — only while you hold the key.

Screen content (momentary). When you use a drafting mode, Churp captures what's on your screen at that moment — including the visible conversation — to generate your reply. Screen content is used only to produce that draft and is not saved to your account. Churp never watches your screen in the background — only at the moment you trigger it.

Generated text and history. The transcriptions and drafts Churp produces for you (and the spoken intent behind them) are saved to your account so you can revisit them, until you delete them or your account.

Your dictionary. Unusual names, jargon, and preferred spellings Churp learns for you. You can review and remove every saved word in Settings.

Usage and diagnostics. Basic technical information such as app version, feature usage counts, timings, and error categories. Our diagnostic logs are designed to describe that something happened — not the content of what you said or wrote.

Payment information. Payments are handled by Stripe, our payment processor. Your card number never touches our servers.

2. How we use it

  • ·To turn your voice into text and generate your drafts — the core service.
  • ·To personalize drafts using the sales profile you provide.
  • ·To maintain your account, subscription, and billing.
  • ·To keep the service reliable, prevent abuse, and fix problems.
  • ·To communicate with you about your account (for example, password resets).

We do not sell your personal information, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not use your voice, screen content, or drafts to train AI models.

3. Who processes your data

Churp is built on established infrastructure providers who process data on our behalf, strictly to deliver the service:

  • ·Cloud hosting and database providers, which store your account data encrypted.
  • ·Speech-to-text providers, which process your voice audio to produce transcriptions.
  • ·AI inference providers, which process the momentary screen content and your instructions to generate drafts.
  • ·A payment processor (Stripe), which handles billing.
  • ·An email delivery provider, which sends account emails such as password resets.

These providers process your content solely to deliver the service. Like most AI infrastructure, some may retain limited data for a short period to detect abuse and keep their systems reliable, under their own published policies. They are not permitted to sell your data or use it to serve ads.

4. Security

All data travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and is stored encrypted at rest. Your session credentials are stored in your Mac's secure storage. Access to production systems is restricted.

5. Retention and deletion

  • ·Voice audio and screen captures: used to produce your text, then discarded — never saved to your account.
  • ·Your history (transcriptions, drafts): kept until you delete it or your account.
  • ·Your dictionary: kept until you remove words or delete your account.
  • ·Account data: kept while your account is active.

To delete your account and its data, contact us at support@churp.ai and we'll take care of it.

6. Your choices and rights

  • ·macOS permissions (microphone, screen recording, accessibility) can be revoked any time in System Settings — Churp simply stops using those capabilities.
  • ·You can review and remove saved dictionary words in Settings.
  • ·You can request a copy of your data, or its deletion, by emailing us.
  • ·You can cancel your subscription any time from your account.

7. Children

Churp is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

8. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we'll update this page and the date above. Continued use of Churp after a change means you accept the updated policy.
